The second meeting of the ELEGTEC project (Enhancing Sustainable and Green Leather Technology) took place on November 14–15, 2024, at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Athens, Greece. This meeting aimed to strengthen institutional collaboration in developing sustainable leather tanning technology. Participants included teams from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Mataram University (UNRAM), and industrial partners such as the Yogyakarta Leather, Rubber, and Plastic Research Center, and the Indonesian Tanners Association (APKI).
Key discussions during the meeting focused on sustainability strategies for the leather tanning industry, establishing Centers of Excellence for Leather Technology in Indonesia, and plans for student exchanges and joint research initiatives. Keynote speakers included Prof. Dr. Mehmet Mete Mutlu, Prof. Yuny Erwanto (UGM), and Prof. Muhammad Irfan Said (UNHAS).
