The second training for the ELEGTEC Capacity Building Program was successfully held at EGE University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Leather Engineering, Izmir, Turkey, from November 25-29, 2024. Attended by nine participants from five Indonesian partners, the training focused on the second module, Leather Production/Quality Control. Topics covered included hide/skin flaying and conservation, restricted substances in leather processing, bio-based alternatives for leather production, leather physical testing, and chemical analysis. Participants gained hands-on experience through technical visits to the department’s laboratories, research and application plant, as well as Lider Deri and Turco Deri factories located in the Menemen Leather Industrial Zone.
